After Bhakya’s mother got separated from her husband, she became homeless. Seven years ago this jobless woman came to Good Shepherd Orphanage with her three children- Bhakya and her elder sister Deepika and her younger brother Suresh Babu. Since then, it is their home and asylum. Three years ago Bhakya had a severe battle with throat cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. Now she is fine. She is an excellent student. Despite her sickness and long absence from classes, she keeps good grades.
